My Job at a Web Development Company

January 27th, 2012

I just quit a job recently because I was unbelieveably burnt out at it. I worked for a web development company as an account manager and it was the toughest job I’ve ever had! It seems like the customers are extra needy and they just don’t understand the work that is involved with building a website. It is very hard to keep a deadline when you are building a website because eventually you will end up running into an issue here and there. Each issue is totally independent from the next when you are considering each job too. So it’s not like you can compare one fix to the next. The customers don’t seem to understand missed deadlines, and we never put a solid deadline in our contract, just goals. Also customers don’t understand the meaning of support. They think that support is the same as building new sites, it’s not.
